The small white church of Stavros with the vaulted ceiling is located on Krikellos, the highest mountain of Amorgos in the southern part of the island and is one of the most inaccessible parts of Amorgos. The route is challenging for visitors but it is the favorite habit of the locals. Starting from Lagada, the paved path that leads them to Theologos passes through low vegetation, rocks, fields, steep cliffs, on a ridge with incredible views, a route along which the wild beauty of the island is revealed.  

The day before the feast, locals prepare the food that will be offered the next day, usually “rifaki” (goat) with rice and potatoes, which according to tradition is “blessed” by the priest of the island. For dessert, melomakarona with orange and walnuts are usually available.
