On the north side of Kefalonia, in the Municipality of Pylaros, every July the big festival of Agia Efimia takes place in the homonymous coastal village. It is 9 km from Sami, 34 km from Argostoli. On the way to the village you can swim in its beautiful beaches and from the port, where the church is located, go to Ithaca opposite. Agia Thymia, as the locals call it, according to the archaeologists who have researched it and have found traces of ancient buildings and mosaics of the Roman Period, was probably in the past a reference point of the island and not only. The island festival in the picturesque village is a pole of attraction for locals and visitors because it is accompanied by a big party, and dances by groups dressed in traditional costumes, presenting local dances such as the “divaratikos”,
