Have in mind that each year on the 27 th of August,in a small church in Stes,one of the
most hospitable festivals of the island is held.It is the biggest festival of the village
and it lasts three days and nights! The picturesque houses of the locals are open for
the visitors who gather from noon and serve soft drinks,sweets,coffees,appetizers
etc.The organ players of the island walk in the alleys,accompanied by visitors and
scam improvised mantinades (the art of musical declamation (recitative) in form of a
narrative or dialogue, sung in the rhythm of accompanying music).As the night
approaches,the big feast is set up by the church with food,lots of good wine and songs from
the islands,that promise you unforgettable moments of fun!
