Panigyri of Lagada 2019
Every year, at such a time in Ikaria, and specifically on the 15th of August, on the day of the great feast of the Virgin Mary, a crowd of people floods the southwestern part of the island, in the area of Lagada.

The place, a hollow immersed in the mountains full of plane trees able to cool even the warmest hearts in their shadow, is ideal for the Dionysian feast that takes place every year.
This year, as expected, once again young children – but also people of all ages – gathered to celebrate the festival in Lagada. Locals, Greeks and foreign tourists, many of whom come to Ikaria just for that gave everything.
Some 4,000 people waited in long lines for more than 30 minutes to serve their wines and food before returning to the frantic feast. Infinite world, infinite dance, beautiful faces and, finally, infinite fun at the most ecstatic festival in Greece.
