One of the greatest festivals of Amorgos that takes place every year during the first days of September in the port of Aegiali is the so-called “Festival of Xerotigano”. Xerotigano is a well-known pastry, which is common throughout Greece to be offered at joyful events such as weddings, christmas etc. During the festival you get to see the cooking process while locals prepare the sweets and treat everybody! The evening is full of traditional melodies, songs and dance groups with local costumes dancing until dawn.
