Folegandros is famous for its delicious cheeses, so the celebration “Agrosourotoxynotyri” is the ode to one of them! The strained (soft white cheese) is the local xinomyzithra made from fresh goat’s and sheep’s milk. In Ano Meria he becomes the protagonist of the festival “Agrosourotoxynotyri” in a large Cycladic feast with local musicians and a lot of dancing. The festival offers delicacies such as Folegandros pies and other locally produced cheeses such as fresh manouri, mizithra, melichloro and ladotyri. That is, everything you need to be combined with the wine that flows abundantly in a -if nothing else- delicious island party with lutes and violins!
